Year 13 Will is competing in the final of the Junior European Open at the Alcaidesa Golf resort in Spain next week. The event is played over five days from 20th November and will be covered by Sky Sports.

The Junior European Open, first staged in 1993 and now in its 27th year, is widely regarded as the toughest test in junior golf and is the most accessible and keenly contested junior golf tournament in Europe.

Will is Deputy Head Boy at Tranby. He joined in Year 3 and is currently studying BTEC PE and Business A Level which he is very passionate about. Will hopes to continue his dream of becoming a professional golfer once he leaves School.

Will's mum said, ''This is a fabulous opportunity for Will. We are so proud of how far he has come. We would like to thank his teachers at Tranby for the continued support allowing Will to compete alongside his studies.''

Head of Sixth Form, Mr Windeatt said, ''We are so proud of Will to have performed so well in the qualifying and now have the opportunity to compete on the International stage. We look forward to monitoring his progress through the tournament. Will is an outstanding sportsman and a huge credit to Tranby – all the best Will.”
