Welcome to the first issue of The Tranby Linguist, created to celebrate the diversity of languages and cultures across the school, and to offer an insight into aspects of the teaching of languages within Tranby.
This first edition focuses primarily on the Senior School and consists of submissions from pupils, items of interest written by colleagues, and issues of language pedagogy. I hope that you enjoy reading the contents and that you find the experience informative, enriching and thought-provoking.
An Anthology of Verse by Former Pupils 1939-1990. This publication contains a selection of poems written by former pupils between 1939 and 1990 along with accompanying illustrations.

All proceeds will go to the School’s charity, the Tranby Trust (charity no. 1079653). The Trust provides financial assistance to new and existing pupils of Tranby by subsidising the cost of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
The Music Success publication celebrates the achievements of current pupils who have been part of local and national youth orchestras. We also highlight some of the many success stories in our alumni community.
The Drama Success publication highlights the range of talent of our pupils throughout the School and amongst our alumni community. Well done to all of those involved.

The Scholars' Journal is a student led publication that showcases the creativity of our scholars at Hull Collegiate School. The Journal offers students the opportunity to share their subject passion, experiences and their views on particular areas of interest and talent.
