Last week saw our pupils attending two exciting careers events to explore pathways and learn all about different university and apprenticeship courses, and careers in STEM!
The UK University and Apprenticeship Search Careers Fair at Leeds Elland Road Stadium was an inspiring event designed to help young people explore their next steps beyond school.
The fair provided an invaluable opportunity for pupils to meet university admissions teams and apprenticeship providers face to face, gaining first-hand insight into a wide range of courses, careers, and pathways. Throughout the day, they engaged with representatives from leading organisations including The Bank of England, Sewell Group, EY, and many more. These conversations offered a real-world perspective on the skills and qualities sought by top employers and how apprenticeships can open doors to exciting professional opportunities.
Alongside the exhibition stands, pupils attended a series of informative seminars covering topics such as Higher and Degree Apprenticeships and Personal Statement Writing. These sessions helped demystify the application process and provided practical advice on how to make future applications stand out.
The event offered a valuable chance for pupils to gather information, ask questions, and feel inspired about their future choices — whether they are considering university, an apprenticeship, or another route entirely.
Inspiring Futures at the Women into Manufacturing and Engineering Event
A group of Tranby pupils had the opportunity to attend the Women into Manufacturing and Engineering (WiME) event at The Guildhall in Hull — a day dedicated to inspiring the next generation of women in STEM.
The event was filled with engaging discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and insight into a wide range of careers in science, technology, engineering, and manufacturing. Our pupils made an excellent impression, asking thoughtful and well-informed questions that showcased their curiosity, confidence, and enthusiasm for exploring future pathways in these industries.
The school extends its thanks to the event organisers and the many businesses who generously shared their time and expertise to encourage and empower young women considering careers in these vital sectors.
A special thank-you also goes to Mrs Jo Harding for her commitment to creating opportunities that ensure every pupil can discover and pursue their ambitions without limitation. For Tranby pupils, there is not a path that cannot be explored, no matter where your skills or passions lie.
