On Friday 13 February, Tranby was filled with pink and red in support of British Heart Foundation and Place2Be. Our Lower Sixth students hosted a Valentine’s Fundraiser in aid of two charities close to our hearts at Tranby. Held during Friday break time and open to the whole senior school, the Valentine’s event brought pupils and staff together for a wonderful cause, which helped to raise vital funds while spreading Valentine’s cheer.
The fundraiser featured a range of 9 exciting stalls, all of which were thoughtfully planned and run by Sixth Form students, offering something for everyone.
The hugely popular photobooth allowed friends to capture a special moment, with the option to receive either online images or printed keepsakes.
The ‘Guess the Name of the Teddy’ competition proved a popular talking point and promoted much discussion, while the reaction time challenge put pupils’ reflexes to the test.
The face glitter stall was a vibrant display of creativity and brought bright colours and designs to the fundraiser, and the bake sale was a definite highlight for all, offering a vast selection of treats which were quickly sold out.
Queues quickly formed at the tombola, while the candy floss and popcorn stall added a touch of fun and excitement to the morning, which everyone loved.
One of the most memorable parts of the morning was the ‘Pie the Teacher’ stall which drew significant interest from pupils across the school, creating an atmosphere of excitement and enjoyment, as brave staff members took part to support the cause.
Elsewhere in the school, our wonderful catering team went above and beyond to put on a stunning spread of treats for staff and pupils to enjoy. There is nothing quite like every area of the school coming together to make days like this special and memorable.
All proceeds made from the fundraiser and online donations will go directly to Place2Be and the British Heart Foundation, helping to support young people’s mental health and fund life-saving research. By the end of the event we had raised over £900! We would love to pass the £1k mark - if you would like to help us, you can donate online using the link below:
