Celebrating Excellence at Tranby GCSE Results Day 2025

We are so proud of our Year 11 students, who today celebrated some truly fantastic GCSE results that place Tranby well above national averages.

Our pupils have outperformed national figures across the board, placing Tranby amongst the leading schools nationally. Their results are a real testament to their hard work, the dedication of our staff, and the support of our families. Congratulations to all!

Across the 20 subjects offered at GCSE, students performed particularly well in English, Spanish, the Sciences, Music and Geography. Music saw the most common grade achieved as a 9 while Geography’s most common grade was an 8. In subjects such as PE, Art, and Drama, pupils exceeded expectations, securing results that reflected the exceptional progress they have made.

Amongst those celebrating their results were Jack who achieved 5 grade 8s and four grade 9s and Eva, Catherine and Ava all of whom secured 100% of grades between 9–7.

We look forward to welcoming students back to Tranby in September to enjoy our new style of Sixth Form which combines the freedom and independence of a sixth form college with the academic rigour they have grown used to at Tranby.

Congratulating all of those celebrating today, Cath Sweeting, Headmistress of the school said:
“We are very proud of our 2025 GCSE cohort who have done so well today. Their transition to secondary education occurred during the Covid lockdowns yet they have always felt at home in at Tranby senior school and have been a brilliant group to teach and to know.
“These results build on the success of our A Level results last week which saw our pupils take up places at first choice universities including Durham, Bristol and York.”

We want to extend out congratulations to this wonderful group of students and wish you the very best as you continue on the next steps of your journey!
