Year 10 Alice wins the Triton Power Prize at the WiME careers event

General

At the beginning of October a group of students attended the Women into Manufacturing and Engineering careers event at The Guildhall. It was a fascinating day where they discovered the opportunities for women across our region and found out why they should consider a career in manufacturing and engineering.

Students met women from manufacturing and engineering jobs and talk to them about their work, found out more about current job vacancies, discovered what training and qualifications are needed and learnt about apprenticeship opportunities.

Included in the event was a quiz where 274 girls submitted their answers. We are delighted to announce Year 10 Alice won! Alice scored really highly in the WiME quiz and also commented in their tie-breaker that "WiME has inspired me to become an engineer and work to find new renewable energy sources such as hydrogen".

Alice received her certificate from Careers Coordinator, Jo Harding. Her prize is a visit to Triton Power Station at Saltend. Well done Alice, a fantastic achievement out of so many entries.
