Pre Prep have completed 100 skips a day for Cancer Research

General

Throughout February, pupils in Pre-Prep, with the help of Mrs Dartnall, completed the 100 Skips a Day Challenge for Cancer Research. This activity coincides with Fitness February and every lunch time pupils have been racking up as many skips as they can coupled with lots of sporting activities including skipping, football penalty shootout, netball, target games, assault courses, unihoc, team games and parachute games.

In half term, Angelica in Year 2 decided she wanted to sell some of her toys in her mum’s shop for Cancer Research and she raised an impressive £100.

Another child in Year 1 raised £110 by asking her parents and grandparents to do fitness every day in February.

Two children donated their tooth fairy money.

Overall, they have raised £965. Thank you to everyone who donated.

Mrs Dartnall said “I am really impressed with the Year 1 and 2 children for their efforts during fitness February and 100 skips a day raising funds for Cancer Research. Also, thank you to Mrs Fairhead and the sports captains and the Prep children for coming down to assist. Thank you to Natalie from the Cancer Research shop in a Anlaby for attending the celebration assembly to collect the overwhelming donations and informing the children how their donations will be used to help with Cancer Research.”
