Writer in Residence Matt Dickinson visits Tranby

General

Last week we welcomed our Writer in Residence, Matt Dickinson, to Tranby for a two day workshop where he inspired pupils throughout the Prep and Senior Schools.

Matt is a film-maker and writer who is best known for his award-winning novels and his documentary work for National Geographic TelevisionDiscovery Channel and the BBC. Dickinson was one of the climbers caught in the 1996 Mount Everest disaster

His visit included some author sessions with the Prep where they explored porridge loving yetis, high altitude moles, and squirrels that poop in cruise ship crankcases!

Thank you to the Friends of Tranby who are funding our Writer in Residence. The support is part of our plans to develop external input for our pupils. Matt will visit Tranby each term for this academic year. We look forward to another inspirational visit next term.

Here is Matt reflecting on his time at Tranby.
