General

Yesterday, pupils in Year 8 visited Market Rasen Racecourse to take a behind the scenes tour of the racecourse on a race day, witness how Maths is used during the day including measuring the height of the jumps, how they weigh jockeys and walk the parade ring. In addition to this, they had the opportunity to look at how odds are worked out and have first-hand experience of the first race of the day.

Head of Maths, Miss Morris said ''We thoroughly enjoyed our day learning about how Maths is used in the planning and running of a race day. The pupils learnt a lot and even and ran their own race over a furlong before watching the first couple of races.''
