Held at the University of East London (UEL), 31 teams from schools such as Harrow, St Pauls, and Winchester College and from all nations of the UK took part.

The team completed an age-related test paper and a practical task based on the topic of sustainability. Talks on careers in Chemistry and information about UEL ‘s own innovative Chemistry degree were given in the afternoon where Jack particularly shone as a student, keen to answer the questions posed by the speaker.

Although not placed in the top 6, the day was an interesting and fun experience for all the team.

Chemistry teacher, Mrs Gibbs said “I was impressed by our students who worked well as a team and by their enthusiasm to engage in all aspects of the competition.”
