A special Tranby Connection
The festival also holds a special significance for year 4 pupil Mia and her family. Mia’s grandfather, Ian Cockerline, was the founding member of the Cottingham Music Festival in 1978. Originally created as a centenary event for Cottingham Methodist Church, where he was the organist, the festival proved so successful that it continues to this day. While he is no longer an active adjudicator, he remains the festival’s president, maintaining a strong connection to its legacy.
A happy first experience for these talented Y2 pupils!
This year's music festival was particularly exciting for these little learners from year 2 as it was their first time participating in the festivites, and boy did they put smiles on many a face! We are so thrilled they are developing a love for music and a respect for performance from such a young age - something we will nurture for man years to come!
