“A comprehensive careers education programme is in place and careers guidance is embedded across the curriculum. Older pupils participate in a varied work experience programme. Pupils use their knowledge and experiences to assess their employability skills and influence their future learning. Pupils leave the school well-prepared for the next stage of their lives. They successfully take up a variety of further education courses and employment opportunities.”

Every young person needs high-quality careers guidance to make informed decisions about their future and this is never more important for them as it is today. Careers education, information, advice and guidance are more than just choosing a job - it is a lifelong process that is influenced by a person's interests, abilities and passion.
At Tranby, we recognise how important it is for pupils to understand and appreciate the options available to them and have the confidence and ability to pursue their own realistic pathways. By helping individuals to recognise their strengths and aptitudes, students are empowered to make their own well-informed decisions with support from the school and their parents/carers.
Jo Harding is our Careers Coordinator who provides careers assistance and is integral in students' growth process. Jo conducts research about potential job opportunities and conveys the information to the students. She also helps the students and employers develop a friendly bond by creating a warm and positive environment. Part of this is through regular careers breakfast meetings held in School for students in Year 7-13. Details will be emailed to parents and on the weekly newsletter.
