PSHE

General

The PSHE curriculum is delivered across four PSHE mornings; one in the Michaelmas Term, one in the Lent Term and two in the Trinity Term. The senior programme is drawn up by both the PSHE Coordinator and Deputy Head (Pastoral), and the programme is delivered by teachers and visiting speakers where appropriate.

Today was the second of our PSHE drop-down mornings for the academic year. Thank you to our guest speakers, Paul Longley from Actions Have Consequences, who spoke to the Sixth Form students about road safety, Paul Palmer, owner of Savoy Tyres who demonstrated basic car maintenance and Ollie Pick from Oddballs who spoke about the signs, symptoms, checking, diagnosis and treatment of testicular cancer.

Other year groups were fully immersed in a range of activities including Healthy Living, where they designed a menu for a school lunch, the importance of sleep, Morrisby and Unifrog, Fake News and Fraud.

PSHE Coordinator, Mrs Carrizales said ''It is always rewarding to see pupils engaging so readily with their PSHE content given its significance as part of their holistic education. We are grateful to the guest speakers today who gave their time to share their expertise with our pupils, particularly when their messages were so powerful. I would also like to offer a huge thanks as well to the members of our School community who provided us with knitted breasts to support the self-checking session and to all of our wonderful Tranby team who were involved in a dozen different sessions across the course of the morning.''

Teachers in the Prep School delivered sessions on Internet Safety, Mental Health and Wellbeing.  Year 6 focused on the five ways to wellbeing: connect, be active, be creative and play, take notice and learning. Much healthy discussion ensued, and pupils created their personalised wordarts.
