Head of Economics, Mr Hastings started teaching at HCS in September. We caught up with him to find out how he has settled into his new role.

General

Mr Hastings currently lives in North Lincolnshire with his family, enjoying the rural lifestyle within the area. Previously, he has been a keen hockey player, playing for many clubs in the region such as Sheffield, Doncaster, and Brigg, as well as Lincolnshire County. More recently, he has developed a passion for cycling which is an excellent past time to help explore the fantastic landscapes of Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire.

Mr Hastings graduated from Lancaster University and undertook his PGCE soon after which was inspired by his family history and enthusiasm for teaching.

He said, ''There are many aspects to life at Hull Collegiate which I relish including a variety of lunchtime activities run by the teachers, catering for all tastes and interests. Furthermore, the ethos by which the School operates creates a family feel to the college environment and provides solid foundations for the pupils whilst placing no limits and ceilings on their ambitions.''
