Careers Fair 2024

Careers Fair 2024

General

On Wednesday we welcomed pupils, parents, and local professionals to our annual Careers Event, offering invaluable insights and guidance for future career paths.

The event brought together representatives from various industries, including healthcare, technology, finance, and more. With over 30 professionals in attendance, pupils had the opportunity to explore a wide range of career options and gain valuable advice from experts in their fields.

The event featured interactive workshops, informative presentations, and one-on-one sessions where pupils could ask questions and receive personalised advice. From discussions about university pathways to apprenticeship opportunities, attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the different routes available after completing their education.

Headmistress, Mrs Wilson said "We are thrilled to provide our pupils with the chance to engage directly with professionals from diverse industries. Our goal is to empower our pupils to make informed decisions about their future careers and inspire them to pursue their passions.

Careers Coordinator, Jo Harding said ''Organising events like these requires months of dedicated effort and unwavering commitment, but every ounce of hard work is vindicated the moment you witness the enthusiastic engagement of our pupils with the exhibitors. There's an undeniable buzz resonating throughout the school, a testament to the passion and dedication poured into making this event a success. And when the exhibitors express their admiration for the remarkable qualities displayed by our pupils, it's a moment of pure pride.''

Paul White, Director at Garness Jones said ''It was a pleasure to attend Tranby career day, the children are true credit to the school , all very engaging, with intuitive questions. Due to the enthusiasm shown from all pupils, that I was able to speak to, it ensured the day was a huge success. I would like to show my appreciation on behalf of Garness Group for allowing for me to attend and provide an insight into the property market and how it’s possible obtain a career in the property sector. I would like wish all the very best to the staff, Jo Harding for coordinating the event and most importantly the pupils who all showed great prospects and values that will enable them grasp the opportunities that are available to them in the future which looks very bright from the children I spoke with.''

Former pupil, Sophie James is the Business Development Manager at Stonbury, she said '' As a former student of Tranby, I am always willing to support the School. The event was extremely busy, and the pupils were really engaged in both the asset and environmental works. They asked a number of insightful questions, which showed they really connected with what we discussed. I had brought a Stonbury merchandise box full of sustainably focused items. This was to be a prize for the best question. However, the standard of questions was so high, I have returned with five! There were a range of year groups. This is brilliant, because it provides ongoing support to students and helps to them think about their future and support their ideas from a young age.''
