Alumni sisters run the London Marathon for Brain Research UK

General

Alumni sisters Evie & Millie are taking on the London Marathon for a cause close to their hearts – Brain Research UK, in memory of their beloved grandfather, Professor David Richardson. Professor Richardson was the UK’s leading expert on the British slave trade and, notably, played a pivotal role in the transformative digital project,'The Transatlantic Slave Trade Database' and was a co-founder and first director of the Wilberforce Institute for the Study of Slavery and Emancipation (WISE) in Hull. He was also a collaborator, persuading Archbishop Desmond Tutu to become WISE’s first patron. A true inspiration who graced Tranby with his wisdom and passion. He shared his life's journey and groundbreaking work with pupils on numerous occasions.
