Ms Chan was educated in both the UK and Asia. She taught English abroad before returning to the UK. In 2009 she embarked upon a career teaching Film, Media, and English.

Ms Chan is excited to be teaching Film and English with the addition of Media and practical filmmaking as enrichment classes. She sees film as an accessible method to hook students into education in a way they might not have thought possible. Film viewing is a much-loved pastime and now is seen as a worthy academic subject in its own right as learners develop their analytical, critical and creative thinking.

Ms Chan comment “Growing up I was that person who talked all the way through a film trying to figure out and explain everything and now I do it as a job! I often get asked what my favourite film is but it’s difficult to pin it down to one – I do however try to incorporate into lessons my love of thrillers (such as The Game directed by David Fincher or Hitchcock’s Rear Window) or murder whodunnits (a recent favourite being Knives Out)”.
