A Level Physics Visit to CERN

General

During half term, A Level Physics students enjoyed a trip to CERN in Switzerland to visit the world's largest particle physics laboratory. The itinerary was packed full of fascinating visits, the highlight being a daytrip to CERN, including a tour of the installations led by one of the resident scientists, plus visits to the centre's Microcosm and Universe of Particles exhibitions.

They also enjoyed a daytrip to Bern, Switzerland's fairy tale capital city. Here, they were inspired by the life and work of world-renowned physicist Albert Einstein, with visits to the excellent Einstein exhibition at the Bern Historical Museum and to the apartment where Einstein wrote his theory of relativity.

Additional activities include a traditional Swiss fondue accompanied by an oompah band, a cruise on Lake Geneva and a guided tour of the United Nations building.
