Guest speaker Matt Dickinson, author and film-maker visits Tranby

General

Matt Dickinson is a film-maker and writer who is best known for his award-winning novels and his documentary work for National Geographic Television, Discovery Channel and the BBC. Matt was one of the climbers caught in the 1996 Mount Everest disaster.

Matt has spoken at hundreds of schools around the UK, thrilling audiences of all ages with his presentations on Everest, Antarctica and K2. Twenty years of film making have given him a wealth of fascinating real life adventures to talk about and the video clips are breath-taking. His expeditions became the inspiration for his two award winning (and Carnegie medal nominated) series ‘Mortal Chaos’ and ‘The Everest Files.’

Today we welcomed Matt who spent the day at Tranby sharing his amazing experiences of Everest and Antarctica with students. Year 7 students Megan and Isabella approached the author for writing tips. An inspiring day, thank you so much!
