This week's STEM in Careers event brought together pupils and industry professionals to explore the exciting world of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers. The event was a resounding success, inspiring young minds and showcasing the endless possibilities in the fields of STEM. We welcomed 35 external pupils to join pupils in Years 5, 6 and 7.

Why study languages? The list of reasons I could provide is endless and well researched – improving job prospects, increasing personal confidence, stimulating the brain and opening minds, making new friends and so on – but perhaps the best way to illustrate the exciting opportunities this subject can also provide is by reading about the fascinating pathways taken by two former pupils, both brothers, who studied Spanish A Level (one with French A Level) here at Tranby – Rajan and Nish Kapur.

Tranby School stands within the shipbuilder’s residence that gives it its name – a grand house made nationally notable for a great scandal of gambling, cheating, and royal regret. To honour 150 years since the great house was laid down, the School hosted a recreation of that great scandal alongside other Victorian delights.
