Meet the new Senior Prefect team 2023-24

General

We are pleased to announce our new Senior Prefect team. Imogen and Noah have been chosen to be Head Prefects, Harry and Hattie have been selected to be Deputy Head Prefects and Dan, Hannah, Tom, Cristina and Meesha are Senior Prefects.

The application round was rigorous and extensive, involving cover letters, presentations and panel interviews. Each student expounded with confidence and pride on the range of activities, events and super-curricular work they had done over the years. Their credibility and their capabilities are a profound testament to the School’s capacity to support the development of confident young leaders.

Here's what the team had to say at the start of their new journey:

Imogen – Head Girl

Tranby has given me an ability to thrive in a way I hadn’t yet imagined - whether it be through academics or the evolution of my character.  It is for this reason that I find myself with an effervescent outlook on my role as Head Prefect. This role is a gateway to make constructive and student relatable changes, making a difference in the School with pupil wishes as a focus. I consider it to be a personal privilege to increase my presence in the School community and represent it in both exterior and interior events. Apart from proposing any potential ideas, I am looking forward to adding to my current skill set and to expand my social network through the further interaction of staff and pupils alike.

I wish to be able to provide a further student support system in which the whole team is accessible to all year groups, in the hopes that this will make Tranby an increasingly positive experience. This is possible due to the wonderful Senior Prefect Team chosen this year, consisting of affable, approachable and hospitable students.

Noah – Head Boy

Having joined Tranby in Year 7, it has been clear to me how vital the roles of Senior Prefects are throughout the School community. As Head Boy I have an opportunity to lead by example and to motivate others around me to achieve and excel.

I am proud to be a part of the Senior Prefect Team and I’m sure I will learn skills which will benefit me for years to come.

Harry - Deputy Head Boy

It is an honour and privilege to be awarded the role of Deputy Head Boy here at Tranby. I have attended Tranby for a long time now and it has been a great experience growing up in the community, everyone is very welcomed. The Senior Prefect team have always managed to bridge the gap between the Lower School, Sixth Form, and teachers and to be part of this team is just amazing. I am very excited to see how we as a prefect team can lead over the upcoming year.

Hattie - Deputy Head Girl

I have only been a part of the Tranby family since September, even though it truly does feel like I have been here much longer. Tranby has already given me so much, with regards to my confidence in academics, sports and taking more independent steps towards my future. I applied for the role so that I would be able to give something back to the School and because I have always looked up to the prefects, no matter what school I have been at, and I really wished to become that role model for people throughout the School.

I feel honoured to have been chosen for the role of Deputy Head Girl. I am looking forward to deputising for Imogen who I know will make positive changes. I feel privileged and excited to be a part of a wonderful team. I can’t wait to jump straight into this role, and I know that I will learn a variety of new skills that will certainly benefit me throughout my life.

Dan – Senior Prefect

Being a part of the Senior Prefect Team has been a key aspiration of mine for many years. Having been a pupil for over 12 years, I owe a lot to the School. Tranby has been vital in both my academic development and my overall maturity. Being a senior prefect will present me with many challenges that I am eager to overcome. Equally, this role will help me gain vital organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills that will benefit me immensely throughout the rest of my life.

I am honoured to have been selected for this crucial role, and I can't wait to help implement my ideas and help positively develop Tranby as much as possible.

Hannah – Senior Prefect

Since joining the school in Year 8, Tranby has never been short of providing me with opportunities to learn and grow my understanding, both inside and outside the classroom. I have been able to develop an inner confidence over the years that has allowed me to show who I am today and what I stand for.

As a Senior Prefect and Chair of School Council, I believe the responsibilities I now have will enable me to grow even further and give me a set of skills I can utilise for the rest of my life.

I am so grateful to have the opportunity to give back some of what has been given to me, and I will endeavour to make positive changes within the Tranby community and help present the friendly and supportive atmosphere the School has always provided.

Tom – Senior Prefect

Being a Senior Prefect appealed to me as I saw it as a challenge and an opportunity to be involved in leadership at Tranby. So being appointed as a Senior Prefect means a lot to me and I feel will give me a chance to give back to the School having gained so much from my 12 years at Tranby.

I hope to be able to be a part of ensuring upcoming students have as enjoyable an experience as I have been fortunate enough to have. Hopefully this position of responsibility will allow me to develop my leadership and teamwork skills along with allowing me to be actively involved in the School community and have a positive influence.

Cristina – Senior Prefect

Ever since joining Tranby in Year 7, I have looked up to the Senior Prefects and admired them for the great role they play in the School community. I wanted to join the Prefect Team so that I could be a role model for students, and somebody who all staff and pupils feel comfortable approaching and know that they can rely on. I am so fortunate to have been selected as a Senior Prefect and will do everything in my power to make the School a warm and inviting environment, where everybody is comfortable and feels free to be themselves.

Meesha – Senior Prefect

Since joining Tranby in Year 7 I have always wanted to represent the school through the senior prefect body as it is a position in the school that is constantly highly thought of. I applied for this role because I wanted to illustrate the School’s accommodating values and help the school as they have supported me thoroughly throughout my time here, which I am very grateful for. I believe that a big part of being senior prefect is the responsibility of presenting yourself as a good role model for the younger years which I value. I love to interact with the younger pupils and help them to achieve their ambitions. As a Pakistani hijabi I want to represent and bring about diversity and I feel incredibly honoured to be appointed a role of influence where I can have a say and bring about change to this School.
