Palaeontologist Dr Liam Herringshaw visits Tranby

General

Yesterday we welcomed special guest Dr Liam Herringshaw to Tranby. Dr Liam Herringshaw is a Palaeontologist who works with Hidden Horizons and is the Director of the Yorkshire Fossil Festival.

Dr Liam led pupils in Years 6, 7 and 8 in an incredibly special Rock and Fossil Workshop and ran a Q&A during Senior assembly. He brought unlabelled fossils for pupils to identify and label and pupils built a 2m long timeline with their fossils and drawings.

A truly inspiring workshop which generated lots of questions from a very excited group of pupils!

Here are a few fossil sketches from pupils.

If you are interested in future fossil activities, there are updates on Liam's website FossilHub, as well as on the Yorkshire Coast Rocks website.
