Bringing History to life with One Day Creative

General

This week Year 2 explored the key events and characters of the Great Fire of London by One Day Creative. This disaster took place in 1666 and, using a range of drama, movement and musical activities, pupils explored the story from the perspectives of different characters. They learnt how the fire began, why it spread and what the residents of London did to tackle the blaze.

Year 2 teacher, Caroline Crossland said "An invigorating, informative and inspiring workshop on the Great Fire of London. The enthusiasm was palatable with all the children engaged in their learning. The discussion, debate, drama and role play brought a historical event to life and we look forward to channelling our new found learning into our lessons to produce the high quality outcomes we have come to expect from Tranby."

Head of Prep, Cath Sweeting said "It was lovely to see so many parents come to watch the children perform and showcase their learning from the day. One parent commented how it was; simply fabulous! Such a nice way for the children to learn.'
