Tranby enjoys early Jubilee celebrations with all things royal

With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee falling during the half-term holiday, staff and pupils at Tranby decided to celebrate early.

Everyone dressed in red, white and blue clothing and enjoyed a day of cooking, fun, games and learning about 1950s Britain and the challenges for the new Queen Elizabeth II.

The School was decked out in red, white and blue balloons and pupils in Prep enjoyed a special Jubilee assembly and sang the National Anthem in the Radcliffe Hall. Lunch was served including homemade cookies decorated with the Union Jack and an ice-cream van outside as a special treat.

Headmistress, Alex Wilson said: “It has been a brilliant day, the children really got in the spirit of the day. It was so nice to see everyone dressed in red, white and blue. A special well done to Year 3 who made the Royal Trifle which looked delicious!''
