What a hit! The Senior School end of year concert had everyone on their feet by the end of the night.
After much planning, rehearsing, and - we don't mind admitting - a little flapping, the School's Out Summer Concert couldn't have gone any better!
This year, it was decided that the students could choose any style of music or genre that they felt best showcased their unique talents, and we can tell you they chose well! From stunning self-composed piano pieces to drum solos over hits by the likes of The Prodigy, ethereal vocal harmonies to bold and brave solos, and classical strings to electric guitar, we were honoured to watch these young people perform with the presence and confidence of seasoned professionals.
The recent purchase of a brilliant PA system, thanks to the fundraising efforts of our PTA, the Friends of Tranby, made the atmosphere even more electric in the theatre. With beautiful staging, lights and sound quality topped off with an abundance of talent that blew everyone away; this event was truly a spectacle, enjoyed by all who attended.
With so many performances to fit in and an interval where everyone enjoyed refreshments from the bar set up and run by our dedicated PTA, it was important the evening ran to schedule. You can see from the event programmes below how much work went into making the evening and all the timings a success, and the team truly pulled it out of the bag.
From getting the lighting just right to considering spacing on the stage for group numbers, the time and effort getting the levels perfected on the PA and all the admin and rehearsing behind the scenes, we are so grateful to each and every one of the team who pulled this event together.
But, of course, the biggest thanks must go to our wonderful students who bravely took to the stage to entertain everyone. From youngsters with limited experience under the spotlight to our older students who have been working so hard preparing for and sitting exams, you really are a remarkable bunch who take it all in your stride, especially in such a fast-paced world. We are very proud of you all and thank you for making this concert the spectacle it was.
We are already excited for next year's concert! But first, it's time for a well-earned summer break for all.
