There was a real sense of excitement around Tranby on Saturday 26 September as we welcomed a huge volume of new families through our doors for our latest Open Day.
Building on the success of last year’s event, even more families joined us to see what all the fuss is about and discover for themselves what so many Tranby families are already telling others: Tranby is a very special place to be.
Across the school, our teachers went above and beyond to bring their subjects to life and showcase what makes a Tranby education so unique. From science dissections and fascinating experiments, to incredible artwork on display throughout Prep and Senior, our rugby teams demonstrating their sporting prowess and interactive Shakespearean fun in English, there was something happening around every corner.
And that is exactly what we wanted families to see. A Tranby education extends far beyond what happens on a timetable. It is about curiosity, confidence, character and giving every pupil the opportunity to discover what they are capable of.
A huge thank you goes to every member of staff who helped make the day such a success, from our fantastic Facilities team supporting with the set-up, to every teacher who gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to showcase their subject.
And, of course, to our pupils.
Our subject ambassadors and tour guides represented Tranby brilliantly, and we could not have been prouder of them. Families were full of praise for their knowledge of the school, their lovely manners and their ability to hold confident, engaging conversations with visitors. They were warm, articulate and genuinely proud to share their school with others.
Our pupils are the heart of Tranby, and Saturday was a wonderful reminder of why.
It is why our pupils achieved above their predicted grades in every single subject in 2026. It is why our Sixth Form has grown by 263% in just one year. And it is why 96% of our 2026 A-level students are now settling into their first-choice university.
Tranby is an exceptional school where exceptional things are achieved.
And it seems that word is spreading.
We are already looking forward to opening our doors again in March for our next Open Event, which will shine a spotlight on another hugely important part of life at Tranby: our outstanding extra-curricular opportunities, enrichment and personal development.
These are the experiences beyond timetabled lessons that help our pupils discover new interests, develop new skills and, often, achieve things they never thought possible. Keep your eyes peeled for the date of this exciting event!
For now, we have lots of new families to welcome back to Tranby for taster days, tours and further conversations with our staff. We are delighted that so many families chose to spend their Saturday with us and take the time to discover what makes Tranby different.
