A Class Act - Huge Congratulations to Year 11

It's been a celebratory morning here at Tranby with an impressive uplift in top GCSE grades for the class of 2024!

Here at Tranby, we are thrilled to congratulate our Year 11 students who have achieved some excellent GCSE results, with a notable increase in top grades awarded.

This is testament to the hard work and dedication of both our students and staff and builds on last week’s success at A Levels.

Our students are now looking forward to the next stage of their education with many joining our thriving Sixth Form. In doing so, they will be closely supported by the team who know them best and understand their individual interests, personalities and the way to bring out their best.

Amongst those celebrating their GCSEs today:

Jack has earned an impressive 6 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, and 2 grade 7s. Jack is a popular and active member of the school community. His musical prowess was showcased at this year’s end-of-year concert, where he performed his own music composition to a packed and appreciative audience.

Yahya

Yahya has also demonstrated exceptional prowess, securing 4 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s, and 2 grade 7s. Yahya, known for his enthusiasm for cricket and enjoyment of school life, has balanced his sporting commitments with outstanding academic success.

Lucy

Lucy's results are a testament to her hard work and dedication, achieving 2 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s, and 3 grade 7s. Lucy’s achievements span a range of subjects, highlighting her commitment and effort throughout her GCSE studies.

Emily

Emily has excelled with 3 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, and 4 grade 7s. Known for her incredible work ethic, Emily will be moving into the Sixth Form to study Biology, History, and Maths, continuing her academic journey here at Tranby with the same dedication that led to her impressive GCSE results.

Congratulating the students, Mrs Alex Wilson, Headteacher of Tranby School said:

“We are extremely pleased for those students celebrating their success today. It is always a lovely experience to see them receive the external validation of their ability, talent and hard work through impressive GCSE results.

“At Tranby, we understand that each student needs to be nurtured as an individual and given the encouragement, support and opportunity to succeed both in their academic learning and in their wider development.

“We are very pleased to be welcoming so many of them back to our successful Sixth Form in September where they will move on to studying for the qualifications that will set them up for the beginning of their adult lives. They are a credit to our school, to their families and, most importantly, to themselves!”.
