Playdates with Parents at The Croft Preschool & Reception

Join us for a Playdate with Parents session at The Croft Preschool and Reception, a wonderful opportunity to experience our custom-built early years and Reception environment and discover how we give children the very best start to their educational journey.

Led by our team of fully qualified teachers and experienced nursery nurses, The Croft provides a warm, inspiring setting where children are encouraged to explore, build confidence, and develop socially in preparation for the next stages of school life.

During the session, children and parents will enjoy age-appropriate activities, meet our friendly team, and explore the learning spaces that support confidence, curiosity, and early independence.

Explorers (Ages 1–2)
Our Explorers sessions are ideal for families with children aged 1–2 years who are considering our Preschool/Reception setting.

Adventurers (ages 3-4) 

For families joining our Reception setting in September 2026, we would recommend joining this playdate with parents session and applying for a place in our preschool as soon as possible. This ensures your child experiences familiar routines that mirror those of Reception, helping to build confidence, independence, and readiness for primary school. You may wish to split your child’s time with another preschool setting.

Following the huge success of our first Tranby Tryouts in February 2025, we are pleased to invite families to join us for a second event on Saturday 7 February 2026 from 09:00 - 12:00

This free event is open to children in Years 1 to 6, offering the chance to take part in short, enjoyable assessments in English, STEM and Sport, designed to give families helpful insights into their child’s current learning profile.

Children will work with our subject specialist Prep School teachers in small groups while parents are provided with a clear overview of how the activities work and what they measure. The morning aims to build a fuller picture of each child’s strengths, interests and areas for development, helping families make informed decisions and better understand how to support progress at home and at school.

To reflect the level of individual attention our pupils experience in the classroom, this event is limited to 40 places.

Last year’s Tryouts reached capacity very quickly and received outstanding feedback, so we recommend booking early to secure a space.

During your visit, you’ll have the chance to explore our beautiful building and grounds, meet our dedicated teachers, and see how we support every pupil to achieve their very best — academically, socially and personally — whatever their starting point.

Whether you are considering Tranby for Reception, Year 7, or Sixth Form, or you have already settled on another school or college, you are very welcome to join us. Many families attend simply to broaden their understanding of what an exceptional, all-through education can offer, and to see how a Tranby education prepares young people for the future at every stage.
