Tranby and Artmarket have launched an art competition to pupils in Years 1-13.

Artmarket is a local independent art gallery in Cottingham representing a wide range of artists from world renowned David Hockney to up and coming artists. They offer a range of artwork from photography, sculptures and wall art. They take pride in offering the hottest, most current and contemporary art on the market.

The competition is now open and pupils are invited to submit a piece of work of their choice based on the theme 'Local Culture'. This can be a painting, water colour, sculpture, photography, digital art; the opportunites are endless. Mrs Silk will help Prep pupils and the Senior pupils will be guided by Mrs Wallis. The maximum size of artwork is A3.

The deadline is Friday 11th February followed by an exhibition at Artmarket Gallery displaying the top 40 pieces alongside the likes of David Hockney, Keith Haring and so many more. The top 40 entries will be chosen in School and there will be three lucky winners to receive a voucher and the top prize will also have their winning piece framed by Artmarket. Entry to the event is £5 per adult, children free with the proceeds going to the Tranby Trust.

We look forward to seeing many displays of artwork over the coming weeks and more details about the exhibition will follow.
