While part of our school is undergoing exciting restoration work, our September Open Event will be a little more intimate than usual – but still full of opportunities to explore life at Tranby.

This event is especially focused on two key age groups:

• Children in Year 5 and Year 6
• Children aged 2 to 4 (Preschool and Reception)

Families with children in other year groups are very welcome to attend for a personalised tour. While classroom activities will be tailored to the age groups above, our admissions team will be on hand to discuss options across the full age range.

For Year 5 and 6 pupils, Saturday 27 September is the perfect opportunity to step into life at Tranby Senior School. Pupils will take part in engaging taster sessions in STEM, Sport, Languages, and the Arts, getting a true feel for the challenge and joy of life at Tranby ahead of Year 7 entry in 2026 or 2027.

For families interested in Preschool or Reception, you’ll explore The Croft, our outstanding early years setting. With specialist teaching from age 2 in phonics and maths, and a purpose-built outdoor area that encourages confidence, teamwork, and resilience, The Croft gives little learners the strongest start to their school journey.

You'll also have the opportunity to meet Mr Chris Wainman, the new Head of Tranby, who will share his vision for the future alongside Mrs Cath Sweeting, Head of Prep, and the wider team.

Join us this Michaelmas Term for a School in Action session – a unique opportunity to step inside a real school day and discover the energy, ambition, and excellence that define life at Tranby.

Explore our outstanding facilities in Music, Drama, Science, Sport and Design Technology, and see how expert teaching across all core subjects helps every student thrive.

You’ll meet our inspirational staff and either our progressive and forward-thinking Head of Prep, Cath Sweeting, or, if you're touring the Senior School, our Head, Mr Chris Wainman – now leading Tranby into an exciting new chapter with fresh ideas and an approach that brings out the best in every student.

With only one booking per time slot, your tour will be fully personalised and focused entirely on your family. You're welcome to bring as many family members as you'd like to experience everything Tranby has to offer.

Our first-ever whole school Christmas Open Event falls on December 6th, and it coincides perfectly with the completion of major roof restoration works.

We’re thrilled to be welcoming families back into our stunning building, ready to show Tranby off in all its glory.

Important note for families seeking funding
To be considered for funding or a bursary for September 2026 entry, all registration and application forms must be submitted by the end of November. This means the December Open Event will be too late to begin the process. If funding is a consideration, we strongly encourage you to attend the September event or book a personalised tour as soon as possible to avoid missing out.
