Held at Costello Stadium. Monday 24 June 2024
Costello Stadium was the perfect venue with plenty of space for parents to sit under the shade of the trees and a designated 'refuelling station' (aka, the tuck shop).
Venn were our House Champions and the following pupils were awarded Athletes of the Day:
Lloyd Chambers for a host of fine victories, which included three broken records (100m, 300m and relay)
Ruby Bunting who scored the most points
Ella Quantock who broke the Javelin record and won 3 events.
We want to congratulate the pupils who had superb individual success, however, all pupils performed exceptionally and gave their all across the events. There were seven records broken in total (a massive feat as these records have been collected over nineteen years and have been set by some superb athletes, who have gone on to represent the area at the English Schools Athletics Championships and won medals), which made the day all the more amazing.

Other notable performances:
- Year 8 Boys - George S was part of the record-breaking relay team, won several events and was close to breaking the long jump record, and Freddie H and ‘Jammy’ B both topped 50 points for their respective houses.
- Year 9 Boys - Luke G was tremendous in the throwing events, breaking the discus record and narrowly missing out on the javelin record. Will Q and Darcey T both exceeded 50 points for their houses.
- Year 10 boys - George F ran himself to the ground, despite the weather, winning 3 events and 56 points for his house.
- Year 7 girls – Isla R won 4 events.
- Year 9 girls – Florence J achieved a great double ‘gold’ in 800m and 1500m.
- Year 10 girls – Holly C scored over 50 points and dominated the sprints in her year group.
- Year 12 pupils: To all the senior pupils who attended and embraced the spirit of the event wholeheartedly, but particularly to Eddie C who broke the 100m record and nearly broke the long jump record.
Aside from the above, all pupils who were present deserve a mention. From gaining points for their house to running a race in front of everyone even though they dread the limelight, doing as many events as possible to maximise points for the house and most importantly doing their best.
We are SO PROUD of you all!
We cannot wait to see what next year entails!
